In addition to general medical consultations, we are pleased to provide specialist clinics and services covering the following areas.
These run on Fridays from 13:30 until 15:30 with the midwife.
You will be invited to attend for appropriate vaccinations for your child.
Long term condition clinics
We run clinics for people with coronary heart disease, diabetes, asthma, COPD and other reparatory issues.
Stop smoking clinic
In line with the national NHS programme, we offer smoking cessation support.
Adult and travel immunisations
If you require vaccinations relating to foreign travel you will need to make an appointment with the practice nurse 6 weeks before you travel to discuss arrangements. This will include discussing the countries and areas you are visiting, in order to determine which vaccinations are required.
It is important to make this appointment as early as possible, at least 6 weeks before travel, as you will need to visit twice: first so we can agree with you what vaccinations are needed and again to receive the vaccines. Unfortunately, we do not stock the majority of vaccines so will order these in.
You will need to receive the vaccinations at least two weeks before you travel, to allow the vaccines time to take effect.
We make this available on demand, and will discuss this with you.
We recommend all women eligible have a regular cervical smear test every three to five years. You will be invited to attend, but you can also speak to the practice team to book an appointment.
We provide some services which the NHS does not fund and therefore if you require these, they attract charges. This includes:
- Medicals for pre-employment, sports and driving requirements (HGV, PSV etc.)
- Insurance claim forms
- Prescriptions for taking medication abroad
- Private sick notes
- Vaccination certificates
- Holiday Cancellations – all forms, letter
Our reception colleagues will be happy to advise you about appointment availability and applicable charges.
