NHS 111 Online

On the 19th December a national campaign to raise awareness of NHS-111 Online (Get help for your symptoms – NHS 111) will be launched, with the aim of shifting activity away from NHS-111 telephony to the online platform, to ease some of the current pressure on the telephony system where patients can be dealt with through the website instead.

The online platform (111.nhs.uk) will prompt patients to follow a triage process similar to that of the telephony service, based on their symptoms. In the way that NHS-111 call handlers do now, the patient will then be given specific advise which could include to contact their GP, to visit a UTC or walk in service, to go to ED or to look after themselves at home, as examples.
